TEWKSBURY: Carol M. (DeYoung) Benjamin, age 64, a resident of Tewksbury for 13 years, died Monday, April 17, 2006 at home.
She was the wife of James A. Benjamin, with whom she would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on May 12th.
Born in Boston on September 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Herbert S. and Catherine C. (Smith) DeYoung.
Mrs. Benjamin was raised in Somerville and attended Somerville schools.
She resided in Somerville for many years until moving to Tewksbury in 1993.
Mrs. Benjamin was a communicant of St. Dorothy’s Church of Wilmington.
She dedicated her life to caring for her husband, children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband , she is survived by two daughters; Donna M. Paris and her husband Gary of Wilmington, Carolyn A. Benjamin and her life partner Joseph Teixeira of Derry, NH; three sons; James J. Benjamin and his wife Michelle (Grant) of Tewksbury, John M. Benjamin and his wife Judy (Comerford) of Billerica and Michael J. Benjamin and his wife Debra (Wetzonis) of Malden; twelve grandchildren; Melissa A., David A., Kevin M. and Jennifer M. Paris all of Wilmington, Nicole A. Teixeira of Manchester, NH, Anthony J., Brittany M. and Ashley S. Teixeira all of Derry, NH, Zachary M. and Nicholas J. Benjamin both of Billerica, Katherine C. and Julia M. Benjamin both of Malden; six brothers and five sisters-in-law; George and Barbara DeYoung of Naples, FL, James and Margaret DeYoung of Maine, Ronald DeYoung of Boston, Robert and Eleanor DeYoung of Wilmington, Francis and June DeYoung of Everett and Edward and Cathy DeYoung of Somerville; also many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Benjamin was the sister of the late Herbert DeYoung and sister-in-law of the late Mary and Helen DeYoung.
Calling hours Thursday, April 20th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Friday, April 21st at 9 a.m., from the funeral home. Funeral Mass Friday, April 21st at 10 a.m., at St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St., Rte. 38, Wilmington. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
