Leonard A. Leite, 78, of Dartmouth died April 17, 2006 at home.
He was the husband of the late Claire A. (Przymierski) Leite.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Ralph T. and Mary (Soares) Leite, he lived in New Bedford most of his life before moving to Mattapoisett in 1979 and recently to Dartmouth.
Mr. Leite was employed as a correctional officer at MCI Bridgewater until retirement. Prior to that, he worked at the Goodyear Store in New Bedford.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and Korea.
Survivors include a son, Richard Leite of New Bedford; two daughters, Leslie Baszak, and her husband Ted, of New Bedford and Kerry Riggs, and her husband Greg, of Mattapoisett; four sisters, Beatrice Souza and Philomena Zuber, both of New Bedford, Lydia Bichel of Acushnet and Mary Lou Turner of Dartmouth; six grandchildren, Jacqueline, Ben, John, Katherine, Tim and Hallie; several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Lorrie Leite, brother of the late Juliette Souza, Ralph Leite, John Leite, Theresa Leite and Mary Medeiros and the son-in-law of the late Teodor and Mary Alice Przymierski.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday, April 21st at 11 AM.
Visiting hours Thursday, April 20th from 4-8 PM.
Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery.
