Obituary

Charles C. DiPietro, 86, of Westwood died November 18 in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Boston after a long battle with Parkinson disease. Born in Boston, November 2, 1935, the son of the late Ignazio and Katie (Armata) DiPietro, Charles was raised in Boston and had lived in Westwood, Ma for over 45 years. He was the devoted husband for almost 50 years of the late Joan P. (Sweeney) DiPietro who passed away in 2011.

He had been a heavy equipment operator for over 50 years and served as financial secretary for I.U.O.E Local 4 before retiring.

In his free time Charles enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren in South Yarmouth. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who was selfless.

He is survived by his children, Paula Colena and her husband Lorne of Wrentham, Carla MacPherson and her husband Ron of Walpole, Kathleen Pelick and her husband Marshall of Franklin, Charles DiPietro of South Boston and Adrianne Stoller and her husband Joseph of Franklin.

He was the beloved brother of Jack DiPietro of Mansfield and Ann King of Florida.

He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Ryan and Austin Colena, Madison and Brenden MacPherson, Charlize and Jace Pelick and Olivia and Andrew Stoller.

His funeral mass will be celebrated with family and friends on Monday, November 22 at St. Mary’s Church, Franklin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Calling hours will be private.
