Edgar Durwood Main age 92 of Noank died at Groton Regency on November 9, 2021. He was born April 30, 1929, in New London, to parents Durwood and Grace Main.
He graduated from Fitch Senior High school in 1947. On September 5, 1959, he was married to Ingrid F. Ness.
Edgar was drafted into the Army in 1951, and was honorably discharged. He worked at Northeast Utilities for his career and retired as a control room operator. Edgar was a member of the Masonic Temple, and his hobbies included gardening and camping.
Edgar is survived by his daughter Karen Hakenjos, son Bruce Main and daughter in law Amy Main, seven grandchildren three great grandchildren.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic on Wednesday November 17, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 12:45pm and a Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.
