Obituary

Sheila E. (Ferdinand) Federico, 83, of Mattapoisett passed away Friday, November 12th, 2021.

She was the wife of the late James Federico and daughter of the late Harold and Doris (Green) Ferdinand.

Born and raised in New Bedford, she lived there all of her life until moving in with her daughter, Debra of Mattapoisett.

She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, in New Bedford. She served on the Women's group, Altar guild and Food Pantry.

Sheila was a member of the Rosicrucian's Order, AMORC out of the Johannes Kelpius Lodge in Massachusetts.

Sheila retired from St. Luke's Hospital, Payroll/Accounting department, after 33 years. After retiring she volunteered for many community service groups and worked part-time for Coastline Elderly Services and the Fairhaven Senior Center.

Survivors include her daughters, Debra S. Chmiel and her husband Peter, Linda S. Grenier and her husband Wayne and Sharon L. Weihrauch and her husband Michael; 4 grandchildren, Peter Chmiel, Alycia Richard and her husband Thomas, Michelle Grenier and Keith Grenier; and 3 great-grandchildren, Luke and Adam Richard and Mary Chmiel. Several Nieces and Nephews.

She is predeceased by her sister June Bourgeois-Creeden and brother Harold T. Ferdinand and his wife Theresa.

Mass will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 169 Belleville Rd, New Bedford, on Tuesday November 30, 2021 at 10 AM, followed by burial in Acushnet Cemetery. Masks will be required to enter the church.
