Ruth Laverne (Smith) Brake, 96, of Goshen died November 6, 2021 at Courtyard Health Care.
She was born January 30, 1925, the daughter of Ernie and Fannie (Miller) Smith, in Farmersburg where she graduated from Farmersburg High School in 1943. She worked production at Delco Remy for 8 years.
Ruth is survived by her two sons, Jerry L. Brake of Cromwell and James E. Brake of North Webster; her sister, Betty Litsey of Anderson; three grandchildren, Lisa Brake of Elkhart, Samantha (Billy) Griffin of Cromwell and Jimmy (Sandra) Brake of Goshen; seven great-grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clyde Brake; brother, Leon Smith and sister, Maxine Tichenor.
Graveside service will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at East Maplewood Cemetery with Pastor Ned Clark officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
