In Berkley, Dorothy H. Chew, age 96, passed away at home peacefully on November 6, 2021 while surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was the wife of the late Robert L. Chew to which they shared 49 years of marriage. She was born in New Smyrna, FL, the daughter of the late Commodore & Maud (Huntly) Huskey.
Dorothy had resided all her adult life in Berkley. She was proud of her service during WWII, working as a plane spotter while in the aircraft spotting towers. She enjoyed gardening, going to the beach and cherished her time with family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dorothy leaves her children; Robert Chew Jr. and his wife Janice of Marysville, CA, Greg Chew and his wife Jadzia of Assonet, Bette Chew of Berkley and her late son James Chew, her sister in law Sylvia Correia of Ledgeyard, CT and late brother George Huskey, and her 5 loving grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Saturday, November 27th from 1-2pm. with a service being held at 2pm. A private burial will be held later at the Assonet Burial Grounds.
