Obituary



CORNISH- Irving M. Walker, age 94, passed away on Nov. 7, 2021, in Fryeburg.
He was born the eldest son of the late Archie and Rhoda (Day) Walker on April 30, 1927, in Porter, Maine.
Irving served in the Army in his early years as a young man and followed up with a love of working with trees and lumber. He retired from Hammond’s Lumber Mill in Hiram, Maine.
Irving had many stories and tales to tell that had transpired within his lifetime and enjoyed sharing them with anyone that would stop by for a visit.
Irving loved visiting Clark’s Trading Post in NH and made it a yearly ritual for many years in a row as well as enjoying the company of his family and friends on the long ride up. He also loved visiting the coast and lighthouses where he would frequent, never passing up an opportunity to get a pint of fried clams or a lobster roll.
Irving is survived by two children- Terry Walker and Wendy Walker. He is also survived by his two grandchildren- Justin and Jacob. Irving is also survived by three sisters- Lucille Harmon, Cheryl Weed, and Shirley DeWitt. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother- Norman Walker.
Irving will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews and lovingly remembered for all his fun-ny antics.
A graveside service will be held on Friday Nov. 12 at 2 PM at Riverside Cemetery in Cornish.
