William S. Wynn, 83, formerly a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Friday, October 29, 2021 in Harwich, MA, where he was residing with his family. He was the husband of Doris (Parsons) Wynn.
He was born in Lowell on September 18, 1938, the second son of five boys of the late John J. and Helen C. (Witkowski) Wynn, Sr. He received his early education at St. Michael Parochial School, Keith Academy - Class of 1957, and attended Lowell Technological Institute (UMass-Lowell) before entering the Jesuit Seminary as a novice in 1960 at Shadowbrook, Stockbridge, MA (closed 1970). He pursued his interest in Philosophy at Weston College and Boston College. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966 from Boston College. Following his time as a Jesuit seminarian, he pursued an interest in computer programing which began a forty year career in computer systems analyst and consultant.
In 1970, he moved to New Jersey, residing in Lincroft, NJ, where he and wife Doris raised three daughters Tania J., Melissa, and Heather. His wife, daughters and seven grandchildren are now residents of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. William enjoyed hiking with his family Mt. Washington, the Franconia Ridge of New Hampshire, the Berkshires in western Massachusetts, and the hills and trails near his residence of Lincroft.
William is also survived by three brothers, Kevin L. Wynn of Georgetown, MA, Brian P. Wynn of Burlingame, CA, and Ryan J. Wynn of Lowell. He was predeceased by his eldest brother John J. Wynn, Jr. of Red Bank, NJ (2012).
A traditional Roman Catholic Requiem Funeral Mass was offered for William on November 4, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church, 321 S. Broadway, Lawrence, MA, following which he was laid to rest at St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
