Obituary


Thomas E. Digan of Needham died on Saturday April 15th at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He was 74 years old. Born in Springfield, MA, Mr. Digan was a graduate of Cathedral High School Class of 1948 and the University of Notre Dame, Class of 1952. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for IBM for 35 years until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Digan was an active member of Saint Joseph Parish where he served as a lector and altar server. The beloved husband for 52 years of Jean M. (Fournier), he was the dear father of Thomas B. Digan of Evanston, IL, Mary G. Digan of Oklahoma City, OK, Jeananne G. Digan of Wilmette, IL, Christopher E. Digan of Franklin, Sean P. Digan of Fort Wayne, IN, Elizabeth M. Digan of Novato, CA, Eileen M. Digan of Tivoli, NY and David M. Digan of North Attleboro. Brother o the late Bernard and Robert Digan. Brother in law of Ellen Digan of Manchester CT. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Saint Joseph Church 1360 Highland Avenue Needham on Wednesday April 19 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Interment at Saint Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers donations in Tom’s name may be made to Massachusetts Citizens for Life, Schrafft Center, 529 Main Street, Boston MA 02129 or to the American Diabetes Association 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston MA 02210.
