FALL RIVER - Joseph Souza, 83, residence 102 So. Main St. Fall River, died Saturday in Fall River at home. He is survived by 2 Sons: Joseph Souza of West Kingston, RI, William Souza of Portsmouth, RI, 5 Daughters: Judith Feijo, Marie Perry, Patricia Ford all of Fall River, Jo Ann Tripp of Virginia, and Gail Emerick of Hawaii, 1 Brother: Antone Souza of Pennsylvania, 1 Sister: Irene Banville of Fall River, 21 Grandchildren, 31 Great-grandchildren, 1 Great-great grandchild, and Several Nieces & Nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel and Arthur Souza, Deolinda Carvalho, and Mary Patton.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Henry Souza and the late Maria da Luz (Arruda Carvalho) Souza. He was a lifelong resident of Fall River. Before retiring, he worked as a Weaver for the former Sagamore Mills in Fall River. He had also worked with handicap people for Peoples Incorporated. He was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral.
His Funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 North Main St. on Wednesday at 7:45 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Spring St. at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling Hours Tuesday 5:00–8:00 P.M.
