Obituary

AGAWAM – Paul Joseph Zadie, 80, of Agawam, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life from his home surrounded by all of the memories that he loved and cherished. He was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on May 21, 1941, a son of the late Badwe and Jenny (Marrewa) Zadie. He was raised in Scranton and Springfield, lived in Quincy and Cape Cod, and had just moved to Agawam this year. He served his country in the United States Army and attained the rank of Private. He was a Letter Carrier for over 20 years for the United States Postal Service in Jamaica Plains, MA. Paul was a car enthusiast who enjoyed attending and competing in car shows all across New England. He was a communicant of Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church in Springfield. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda E. (Hersey) Zadie who was Called Home on December 9, 2003. He leaves his four loving children, Paul J. Zadie Jr. and his wife, Sara, of Spofford, NH, Mark A. Zadie and his wife, Amy Russell, of West Springfield, Anne Marie Zadie and her husband, Toby Dutkiewicz, of West Springfield, and Donna Marie Zadie Scorese and her husband, Joseph Scorese, of Turnersville, NJ; his seven cherished grandchildren, and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his dear sister, Yvonne (Zadie) Daboul. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial followed by United States Army Military Honors on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118. His burial will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery, 815 Willard Street, Quincy, MA 02169. Masks are recommended for the services. There are no visiting hours. His funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, (Please specify Springfield), 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
