NEW BEDFORD … Rose M. (Jalbert) Levesque, 78, of Pleasant Street, New Bedford died Saturday, April 15, 2006, after a brief illness.
She was the widow of Andre Levesque.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late Albert and Rose M. (Boulay) Jalbert and was stepdaughter of the late Bertha Jalbert Rioux and had lived in New Bedford for the last 4 years. Prior to New Bedford she had lived on Weybosset Street Fall River.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Fall River.
She was employed as a general laborer for over 20 years with Firestone Rubber in Fall River and was later a sewing machine operator with the former Stafford Garment.
Mrs. Levesque volunteered at Melville Towers, New Bedford serving meals. She was an avid reader and enjoyed studying the Bible.
Survivors include a son Thomas Levesque and his wife Vicki of Fall River, a daughter Sharon Levesque of New Bedford, a brother Armand Miranda of Fall River, 2 sisters: Bertha Jarabek and Evelyn LaLiberte both of Fall River, 4 grandchildren: Sarah Buckley, Abraham Levesque, Abigail Levesque, and Benjamin Levesque, several nieces and nephews. She also leaves close family friends: Elspeth Cypher, Austin Cypher Smith, and Gerard Gagnon.
