Carol Ann (Savaria) Nummy, age 94, passed away on Oct. 31, 2021. She was born on October 11, 1927 in Springfield, a daughter of the late Theodore and Maude (Miller) Savaria. Carol worked as the head librarian for the Chicopee Public Library Children’s Department for over 25 years before she retired in 1991. She is predeceased by her husband Robert J. Nummy, her son Kurt Nummy and her sister Jean Safford. She is survived by her two sons Alan Nummy and his wife Margaret of Florida and Robert Nummy and his wife Nancy of Montgomery and her daughter-in-law Linda Nummy; five grandchildren, Benjamin Nummy of Illinois, Katherine Plourde of Tennessee, Christopher Nummy of Springfield and Zachary Nummy of Chicopee and Joe Chouinard of Monson along with seven beloved great grandchildren, Andrew Nummy, William Nummy, Brian Nummy, Aiden Plourde, Madeleine Plourde, Wilhelmina Nummy, Wyatt Nummy. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by an in house Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chicopee Public Library Children’s Department, 449 Front St, Chicopee, MA 01013.
