WORCESTER-Margaret M. Lavin, 88, formerly of Arlington Street, died Friday, April 14th, in the Lutheran Home. She leaves a sister, Theresa J. Alachoyan of North Grafton; several nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces. She was predeceased by four brothers and a sister, David, James, Joseph, and Thomas Lavin, and Helen Menard.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of David and Margaret (Keating) Lavin, and graduated from Commerce High School and Salter Secretarial School. She was the secretary to the Chief Accountant at American Steel Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the American Steel Retirees and Our Lady of the Angels Parish and volunteered at St. Vincent and University of Massachusetts Hospitals for many years.
The funeral is Wednesday, April 19th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A visiting hour is from 9:00 to 10:00 AM the day of the funeral.
