Obituary

Robert (Bob) Francis Zink, 70 years of age, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at home in Centerville, MA, with his devoted wife, Ruth (Dowd), by his side. He also leaves his two daughters; Courtney (Zink) Staschke of East Greenwich, RI, and Christina Zink of Warwick, RI.

Bob was born on July 10, 1951 in Queens, New York, to the late Francis and Catherine (Savage) Zink of Ossining, New York. He graduated high school from Mount Saint Michael's Academy and went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Construction and Facilities Management from Iona College.

Bob was the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for the Byram Hills (NY) School District. After moving to Cape Cod in 1985, he was the Property Manager for the Knollsbrook Condominiums in Stoughton, MA. He was a talented craftsman in all of the trades and worked on Cape Cod for many families and companies addressing their construction and property needs. He would also take care of the elderly and do anything that they needed done around the house.

He was a lifelong and passionate New York Yankees fan and didn't hesitate to show it (even in Red Sox territory), a trait which he passed on to his daughters. He was an aficionado of music from the 50s through the 70s and had an extensive collection of music unmatched by many. He was also an avid reader and studied the bible extensively. He would re-cover old bibles and give them away to fellow church members.

In addition to his daughters, Bob is survived by his sisters Patricia (Ron) Dubren of NYC, Elizabeth McClurken of Croton, NY, Margaret (Matthew) Rickett of Hopewell Junction, NY, and Janet Zink, VA, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, at the Victory Chapel in Tiverton, Rhode Island.
