Obituary

Chrysanthi Oikonomou, 66, of Bolton, passed away on Sunday, October 24th at home surrounded by her family. She leaves behind her brother, Dimitris Oikonomou and his wife, Lida Oikonomou of Bolton; her sister, Euthymia Celaj and her husband, Agim Celaj of Argyrokastro; and her beloved nieces Eva, Katerina, Stela, Anthea, and Edita.

Chrysanthi was born in Hllomo, Pogoniou. She was raised with love by her parents, Zacharias and Katerina Oikonomou. She received her degree in Economics and worked as an accountant. A big part of her life was spent in Athens, Greece with her family where she contributed in raising her nieces and played an important role in their lives. Chrysanthi was their tutor, she read them stories before bed, she played with them, and most importantly she was always there for them and the whole family. In 2019, she made the decision to move to the United States so she could reunite with her family once again. Chrysanthi enjoyed going for walks in her neighborhood in Athens, spending time with family, watching shows and listening to music. She was known for her warmth and kindness. Her family is blessed to have had Chrysanthi in their lives and her memory will stay with them forever. She will always be in their hearts as “Tani”.

Her funeral is Thursday, October 28th with a service at 11:30 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street in Worcester. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, Worcester. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the start of the service at the church. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
