Juanita Baptiste, 56, of Boston, passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2021 at her home. Born in Boston, Juanita was raised in both Boston and Brockton. She was the daughter of Walter Baptiste, Sr. and the late Sandra (Ribeiro) Baptiste.
Juanita loved socializing everywhere she went, often rolling around the neighborhood in her wheelchair talking to everyone she knew and did not know. Her children and her grandchildren brought the most enjoyment in Juanita’s life. Music brought her a lot of solace and peace, her favorite performers being Mary J Blige and Alicia Keys.
People who knew Juanita remember her uplifting spirit, her loving and generous nature, her talents in fashion and home decor and her silly sense of humor. She lived her life as a survivor and never let anything keep her down.
Besides her father Walter, she is survived by her two loving daughters Quiana Baptiste and Johanna Pina as well as her adoring son Corey Figueiredo. Juanita leaves behind six siblings: Jowanna White, Tanya Baptiste, Walter Baptiste Jr., Andrew Baptiste, Heidi Offley, all of Massachusetts, as well as Jason Baptiste of Rhode Island. She was predeceased by her sister Janice Perito. She also leaves four grandchildren: Joshalyn Gomes, Iyana LaPorte, Ariana LaPorte and Zariah LaPorte.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton from 3:00 to 6:00pm, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 5:00pm.
