Catherine Carrigan - of Weston, Massachusetts died on April 13, 2006.
Catherine was born in Boston on December 9th, 1920, the cherished daughter of Joseph and Julia Callahan. She was a graduate of Our Lady's School in Newton and Regis College. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carrigan was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Marc, and her brother, Reverend Edward R. Callahan, S.J. Catherine will be remembered with abiding love and respect by her children - Joan of New York City, Marc Edward of Orleans, France, Martha of Wellesley, MA, Nancy of Weston, MA. Catherine will be dearly missed by the spouses of her children, Ling Fen Carrigan, James Kappel and John Paine. Catherine was the adored Grama of Cassia Carrigan de Aguiar of Paris, the devoted Nai-Nai of Wei-Ling Carrigan of Orleans, France and the vibrant Grammie of Alexandra, Christina and Quinton Kappel of Weston, MA and Jillian and Nicholas Paine of Wellesley, MA.
Catherine was a true lady in every sense of the word. She possessed an incredible willpower, an independent mind and an impish spirit. She was a woman of intelligence, curiosity, civility and joie de vivre. She was unceasingly loving and loyal, always at the ready to help her family navigate the rough waters of life. She was a true believer in God and The Golden Rule and she possessed an endless reservoir of inner strength and optimism. Catherine faced every challenge with dignity, grace and humor.
A Pro-Burial Mass will be held on Monday, April 17, 2006 at 10:00am at St. Julia's Church in Weston Center. A private burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Needham took place on Saturday, April 15th following a blessing at St. Julia’s Church.
