Obituary

SAINT AUGUSTINE, FL – Patricia Ann (LaFleur) Noyce, 76, of Florida and a former longtime resident of Holyoke and Rutland, Massachusetts was Called Safely Home on Saturday, October 9, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at the Community Hospice Bailey Family Center for Caring in Saint Augustine, Florida surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving daughters, Tina, Traci and their families along with her best friend, Dale. She was born in Holyoke on February 23, 1945, a daughter of the late Euclid F. LaFleur. She was raised by her beloved mother Irene E. (Bessette) LaFleur and Homer LaBonte of Holyoke. She lived in Holyoke and graduated in 1964 from Holyoke High School. Following her graduation, she enlisted in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following her active duty military service, she was a Civil Service employee for the United States Navy. She was awarded the Senior Civilian of the Year Award in 1995. During that time, she also served in the United States Naval Reserves and volunteered to be activated for Desert Shield/Storm, and was assigned to the Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy. She retired from the Naval Reserves in November 1995 and attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. She received the National Defense Service Medal (second award) and the Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal (second award). Patricia then returned to Massachusetts and settled in Rutland where she furthered her education and received an Associate Degree from Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester where she tutored Special Needs Students in Math. During her leisure time, Pat enjoyed being outdoors and loved hiking, biking and kayaking. In 2016, Pat entered the Massachusetts State Bowling Championship where she won the state title and went on to compete for Massachusetts in the National Bowling Championship. She leaves her two loving daughters, Tina M. Noyce Wiswedel and her husband, Karl C. Wiswedel, of Saint Augustine, FL and Traci S. Noyce Nelson and her husband, Troy Nelson of Fern Park, FL; her three cherished grandchildren, Nicklaus Wiswedel and Tia Nelson and Tanner Nelson; her loving sister, Joyce LaBonte of Chicopee; her longtime best friend, Dale Snyder of Rutland, MA; and her nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving brother, Robert LaFleur. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial with United States Navy Military Honors will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are No Visiting Hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Masks are recommended for her services. The family requests that masks be worn for her services.
