New Bedford – Joyce Anjos (Gomes) Pina, age 77, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Bedford, MA she was the beloved daughter of the late Manuel A. Gomes and Edwina (Nicholas) Gomes.
She had been employed as a Certified Nursing Aide at a local nursing home. She had such a kind-heart, always wanting to help out the less fortunate. The Salvation Army was an organization that had been very close to her heart.
She is survived by her children, Troy Anthony Martin and his wife Patricia, Gil Ferreira Martin and his wife Debra, Charlene Ann Sargent and her husband Robert and Manuel Pina Jr.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Mary Bakeee; niece, Barbra Costa; as well as several other nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Candy Ann Pina Alves and was predeceased by several siblings.
Joyce’s visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. -5:00 P.M. at Perry's Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations for the family to be used for the burial of her ashes with her daughter and any money left over will be donated to the Salvation Army in Joyce's name.
