Edmund J.Fay, 59, of Halsey Drive, Smithfield, a cable splicer for Verizon before retiring in 1996, died Thursday at home. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Chase) Fay.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James and Helen (Sullivan) Fay. He had been a resident of Smithfield since 1977.
He had served in the US Air Force as an aircraft electrician from 1965 to 1969. He was a member of the Smithfield Lodge of Elks, #2359 and Past President of IBEW Local 2323.
He was a quick-witted man and enjoyed his passions, NASCAR races, the Boston Red Sox and music.
He is survived by his son, Kevin M. Fay of Smithfield, a brother Ronald F. Fay of Cranston, and his companion, Sharon DiSpirito of Woonsocket. He was the brother of the late James A. Fay, III.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30am from the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Burrillville. Visitation Monday 4-8pm.
