Sharie Lynn (Unger) Houchins, 73, of Anderson, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus, following an extended illness.
She was born on December 30, 1947 in Anderson, the daughter of Aubry and Emma (Cook) Unger. Sharie was employed as the office manager for Byrum Builders in Anderson for 20 years and following that was a commercial sales specialist with Lowes for 10 years. She attended Bethany Christian and Omega Christian Church and was an excellent cook and seamstress.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Steven Houchins of Anderson; two sons, Curt Houchins of Gulf Shores, Alabama and Craig (Lori) Houchins of Anderson; three grandchildren, Emily, Katlynn and Noah; two great grandchildren, Kimmy and Aubry; two sisters, Pam Childers of Pendleton and Linda (Ted) Roach of Pendleton; several nieces and nephews.
Sharie was preceded in death by her parents, and her step-father, Joe Swigart.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 12 noon at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Services officiated by Pastor Jim Harless. Burial will follow at Perkinsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
