Brian K. Young, 50, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Brian was born August 16, 1971, the son of Bruce Young and the late Mary Posey Young. He was a 1990 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and earned a degree in Industrial Maintenance from Ben Hill-Irwin Tech. He worked as a cabinet supervisor for Coachmen Industries, a brick mason boilermaker for Larkin Refractory, and also worked as a handyman. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding motorcycles and Rangers on dirt roads.
He is survived by his children: Austin Young, Chandler Young, and Miley Grace Young and their mother, Dana White Peacock, all of Fitzgerald; his father, Bruce Young of Fitzgerald; his sister, Tammy Gaines of Fitzgerald; a nephew, Bryson Gaines of Fitzgerald; a grandmother, Clara Douglas of Eustis, Florida; and his biological father, Jim & Diane Ford of Lithia Springs. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Posey Young.
