Manuel A. Brito, Jr., 33, of New Bedford, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 4th, 2021.
Born in New Bedford, son of Angelique A. (Kouta) Fernandes and the late Manuel Brito, he lived in California to pursue his music career before returning to New Bedford.
Manny was a good soul who would always take care of others. He could handle anything, and even when his mother was worried he could calm her with a quick "Say no more". He loved making music, art, and inspiring others. Manny also enjoyed playing soccer and basketball. He surrounded himself with great friends, and was loved by many. His family appreciates everyone who has been so supportive during this time.
Survivors include his mother and her fiancé Beaudouin "Jean" Jolivert; his grandparents, Marguerite DaSylva and George Rosario; his uncles, Ibrahim Kouta, Bachir Kouta, and Karim Kouta; his step-mother, Janet Brito; his siblings, Angela Brito, Joyce Fernandes, Lee Brito, Carlos Fernandes, Jonathan Brito, Brittney Brito, and Karim Fernandes; his nieces and nephews, Brittney, Marina, Skyla, Raelyn, Jayce, Rylee, Kyrell, Kassim, Armanee, Aaron, and Aliyah; and many cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by his father; and his grandfather, Mamadou Kouta.
His memorial visitation will be held in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford on Friday, October 22nd, from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon followed by a service in the Funeral Home.
