Obituary

BUXTON- Buxton - Travas Lee Collins, 38, passed into eternity on October 14, 2021. He was born in Portland, Maine on April 17, 1983. Son of the late Frank W. Collins Sr. and Donna Picardi of Buxton. As a child, Travas was raised by Del Ricker. He enjoyed following Del around and working on projects with him. As an adult, Travas spent countless hours with his mother and stepdad Bob Picardi. Bob recently finished a motorcycle for Travas. After his first ride around the block, Travas was sure that Bob had rigged the bike to only go up to 30 mph. :)
He grew up attending schools in Windham, Maine, and later graduated from what he referred to as “The School of Hard Knocks.”
Travas was driven, always working hard in everything he did. He enjoyed being with his family, especially his mom. Any chance he got, he was calling her or stopping by for a visit. From an early age, Travas could never sit still. He always wanted to find joy and adventure in life. He wanted to truly enjoy each moment.
Travas, along with the group from Recovery Corrections of Maine, found ways to give back to others. Recently, they built a dugout for a little league team in the Lewiston / Auburn area. This was very special to Travas because he always enjoyed sports, loved kids, and was truly a kid at heart.
Travas has a huge family. He is survived by his children, Jordan and Jada. The family would like to send a huge hug to both and let them know that they are loved. For many years he was also dad to Giana and Danielle, spending many hours outside fishing and on the four-wheelers with them. He is survived by his sisters and brothers, Dara, Wendy, Jenny, Dawn, Nichole, Brianna, Diandra, Frank, Randy, Adam, and Dalton as well as many nieces and nephews who always looked at him as the “cool and fun” uncle. Travas made sure they knew he loved them. He is remembered by his nieces and nephews for constantly reminding them how much he loved them. When visiting his nephews Brady and Cameron, he took time to fix their hair cool just like his.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 23rd at 1:00 PM at West Buxton Baptist Church, 62 Parker Farm Rd Buxton, ME 04093.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful if donations were made to Rest Centers, 105 Middle St. Lewiston, ME 04240.
