Obituary

Arthur Richard ‘Arty’ Boulanger, 60 of Dover, NH, passed away suddenly after a period of declining health on October 11, 2021 at home. He was born in Lowell, MA on April 18, 1961 and was a son of the late Arthur R. Boulanger and the late Claire H. (McGrath) Boulanger. He was raised in Lowell where he graduated from Greater Lowell Tech High School.

Most of his life he worked within the construction industry, most recently Art and Bill’s Home Improvement in Dover, NH. He was a communicant of Holy Family Parish in Lowell. He was an avid fisherman, especially deep sea fishing. He loved playing poker, watching John Wayne movies and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Summers were spent at Hampton Beach with his family making memories. He was a very gregarious and generous man who would always create a presence in any room with his booming voice and laugh that could rattle the whole room. Above all else, he was a family man and a dedicated father and grandfather.

Arty is survived by his two children, Matthew A. Boulanger of Manchester, NH and Samantha E. Boulanger of Dover, NH; his grandchildren, Tyde Boulanger, Jonathon Jones Jr. and Nathaniel Hartigan; and his siblings, Robert Boulanger and his wife, Suzanne of Hudson, NH, Daniel Boulanger of Tyngsboro, Ruthann O'Brien and her husband, John of Wakefield, Elizabeth Bourassa and her husband, Anthony of Windham, NH, Jessica Desimone and her husband, and Mark of Statesville, NC, he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed by his beloved dog, Sadie Marie.

He is also survived by his sister in law, Annette Boulanger of Leominster; his dear friend and business partner William ‘Bill’ Bergan of Dover, NH; his former wives and still friends, Erika Boulanger and Denise Boulanger, both of Dover, NH; and his stepdaughters, Jennifer, Stefani, and Natasha.

He was predeceased by his brother, the late David Boulanger and his nephew, the late Travis Desimone.

On Friday, October 15, 2021, all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 4 - 8 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816.

His funeral will begin on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 144 East Merrimack Street, Lowell. Followed by procession to St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury.
