Obituary

Scott “Scotty” Czyoski, 50, of Brewster, formerly of Provincetown, passed away peacefully on Friday October 8, 2021 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, surrounded by family and friends.

Scott’s journey began on February 2, 1971. Born and raised in Provincetown, he was a beloved member of a tight knit local community. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle and a close friend to many. There are not many people who do not know or love Scotty. He cherished his friends as much as his family.

Professionally, as a master carpenter, his intellect, creativity and attention to detail was well respected by his peers. The quality of his craftsmanship can be seen in countless homes and businesses on the Cape. Pursuing his own dreams, he started his own company, STC Construction. One of the measures of his confidence and competence was his willingness to mentor people that were starting out in the trade. He enjoyed teaching others the skills he had learned over the years. Scott was considered “the best'' and many looked to him for advice and guidance.

Scott’s greatest joy in life was being a Dad. His naturally playful, kind and tender spirit fostered a love from and for his children that was deep and profound. He loved being a Dad and was a natural at it. His love for Ryan and Emma was pure. He was proud of his children and wanted only the best for them. He will always be their Superman.

Scott had lots of passions, but the one that stood out the most was hockey. From an early age he had a zeal for hockey. Scott played, watched and eventually went on to coach his son Ryan’s hockey team, the Lower Cape Coyotes. Hockey brought lots of joy to Scott’s life. He also delighted in spending time with his family watching movies, singly loudly to music in the car, playing in the snow, hanging out with the kids and the family dog Lucky and being in charge of the grill at the beach or a party.

Scott’s sincere and compassionate heart could be felt by all that knew him. His smile and laugh lit up any room that he entered. He was strong yet gentle. He was a fighter with a heart of gold. Any time spent with Scott was a beautiful adventure. His wit and charm made him unforgettable. Everyone loved Scotty. Scott lost his battle, but his legend will live on through us. Scott is at peace, in the company of loved ones. Those stairs in heaven will be gleaming, just like his smile, when we all meet him again.

Scott is survived by his mother Delanie Santos of Provincetown, his father Thomas Czyoski also of Provincetown, his children Ryan Czyoski and Emma Sullivan Johnson of Orleans, former wife and friend Rachael Sullivan Sigsbee of Orleans, brother Thomas Czyoski of Amherst and many greatly loved family members and friends.

Family and friends are invited to call on the family Sunday, October 17th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Gately Funeral Home, 94 Harry Kemp Way, Provincetown. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Monday October 18th at St Peters the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St, Provincetown. Burial will follow in St Peters Cemetery.
