Obituary

CHICOPEE – Rachel D. β€œRae” (Beaulieu) Donaldson, 73, formerly of Grattan Street in the Aldenville section Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, October 9, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Chestnut Hill of East Longmeadow surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on September 7, 1948, a beloved daughter of the late Albert J. Beaulieu and Doris A. (Robert) Beaulieu Talbot. Her early years were spent in Holyoke before her family moved to Springfield where she lived for many years. She graduated from the High School of Commerce in Springfield and furthered her education and attended a business school in Springfield. She previously worked in the Inventory Control Department at the former Steigers Department Store in downtown Springfield. Following the closing of the store, she was employed at Dinn Brothers in Holyoke. During her leisure time, Rae enjoyed working on ceramics at her home and going to Musicals and the Theatre in New York City. She also was an avid dog lover and adopted several Greyhounds. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul A. Donaldson who was Called Home on March 13, 2019. They were married on June 3, 1972 at Holy Cross Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 46 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving brothers and sister, Michael J. Talbot of East Longmeadow, David R. Talbot of Springfield and Bridget A. Talbot of Springfield; and her many cousins and numerous friends. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visiting Hour on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 which will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private (masks are suggested for the funeral home and church). Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Greyhound Options, Inc., 43 Sczygiel Road, Ware, MA 01082-9411.
