Obituary

Our beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Vesalie Fernandes, of Taunton, Massachusetts, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
She was born on October 7, 1980 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Natalio and Joana Fernandes.
Vesalie was a loving and compassionate young woman, who loved taking care of her patients with disabilities, as an advocate. She had the freest spirit and the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul.
Vesalie loved spending time with her children, family, and friends. She enjoyed traveling, exploring new restaurants, celebrating with friends and family, taking her children to the beach, and loved sitting by the water. With her daughter, she could shop for hours. Vesalie truly enjoyed living her best life.
As a graduate from Baystate College, she continued her education, and planned to receive her master’s degree in business. With all her hard work and dedication, Vesalie intended to open her own non-profit, so she could provide the best care and support to individuals with disabilities. The relationship she had with her patients was truly a gift. Vesalie had the heart of gold and was loved by many. She would have graduated in May 2022.
The relationships with her parents, sisters, children, family and friends was like no other. Vesalie was a wonderful soul that taught us the power of faith, strength, love, and loyalty. Most of all she loved and adored her children, they were her world. Vesalie wanted nothing more for them, than to have a wonderful life.
She was preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Maria Rosa (Mama Grande), of Dorchester, Massachusetts. Vesalie is survived by her loving children, Elias and Veronica; parents, Natalio and Joana Fernandes; siblings, Maria Silva and her husband Augusto Silva, Natalia Leitao and her husband Gabriel Leitao, Lina Lewis and her husband Daniel Lewis, Zena Shivers and her husband William Shivers, and Zelina Kerrigan and her husband Bradley Kerrigan; nieces and nephews, Julian Silva, Gabriella Leitao, Nathaniel Leitao, Ava Silva, Nicholas Tinkham, Victoria Shivers, Elizabeth Shivers, Anastasia Shivers, and Eli Lewis; great niece, Jaylyn Silva; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
