Obituary

Mr. Joseph A. Filosi Sr., age 86, of Somerville died Wednesday, April 12th at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Mary C. (Faraco) Filosi. Born in Cambridge he was the son of the late Vincent and Elvira (Faiola) Filosi.

Mr. Filosi served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during WWII. He was a retired draftsman and worked for The General Electric Co. at the River works Plant in Lynn for over thirty-five years. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Somerville. He enjoyed working with his hands fixing things around his home. He enjoyed working on cars, following the Red Sox and the Patriots but was mostly devoted to the needs of his family and loved being involved in his grandchildren's activities.

Mr. Filosi is survived by his children; Joseph A. Filosi Jr. and his wife Catherine of Appleton, WI, Kenneth R. Filosi and his wife Carol of Arlington and Rosemary A. Gauvreau of Medford. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Paul, Christopher, Katelyn and Julie Filosi, Nicole and Brittany Gauvreau. He is further survived by his brother, Arnold Filosi, of Medford and a sister, Anna Filosi, of Somerville.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Saturday, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral blessing in St. Ann Church 399 Medford St. Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
