Lydia Vazquez Vazquez, age 65, of Quincy, MA, formerly of Villalba, Puerto Rico, went to be with her Lord on October 5, 2021. Lydia was born on September 8, 1956, in Villalba, PR, the youngest of 14 children to her parents Epifania and Regino Vazquez. Lydia was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and sister in God to many. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Carlos Santiago, for 37 years. She is survived by her husband, Carlos Santiago, of Quincy, MA formerly of Villalba, PR. Her two daughters, Caroline Santiago, married to Abisai Vazquez, their three children Enilys, Daniel & Yisrael Amir Vazquez, and Silvia Santiago and her 3 children Jeylianys, Axelianys & Lenyx Rodriguez. Lydia was actively involved with her church, she was devoted to God and reading the Bible. Her favorite saying was “Praise the Lord”. Her favorite Bible verse was Psalm 34:7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, she often would say they filled her soul with so much happiness. She loved her family and friends dearly. She really enjoyed making her favorite meal for her family, rice with chicken and stewed beans. Her favorite tree was the pink oak tree, with its beautiful pink flowers that bloom in the spring. She loved the sea and found much joy in fishing. She would give her daughters the same advice her mother had given her, "Never worry about tomorrow because it will bring its own toil." The visitation will be held at Brady & Fallon Funeral Home, 10 Tower St., Jamaica Plain (Opposite of Forest Hills MBTA Station), on Monday, October 11 from 5-7PM. Another visitation will be held Tuesday, October 12 from 10-11AM. Following the visitation, a private burial service for family will take place at St. Michael Cemetery, 500 Canterbury St, Boston, MA 02131.

Lydia participó activamente en su iglesia, dedicó su vida al Señor y a estudiar su palabra. Su dicho favorito era "Alabado sea el Señor". Su versículo bíblico favorito era el Salmo 34:7 El ángel de Jehová acampa alrededor de los que le temen, y los defiende. Le encantaba pasar tiempo con sus nietos, solía decir que le llenaban el alma de tanta felicidad. Amaba mucho a su familia y amigos. Realmente disfrutó haciendo su comida favorita para su familia, arroz con pollo y habichuelas guisadas. Su árbol favorito era el roble rosado, con sus hermosas flores rosadas que florecen en primavera. Ella disfrutaba del mar y le encantaba pescar. Ella les daba un consejo a sus hijas que su mamá le decía a ella “Nunca te afanes por el día de mañana porque el trae su propio afán.” Los servicios fúnebres se llevarán a cabo en Brady & Fallon Funeral Home, localizado en la 10 Tower St., Jamaica Plain (Frente a la estación Forest Hills MBTA), el Lunes 11 de Octubre de 5-7PM. Otro servicio se llevará a cabo el Martes 12 de Octubre de 10-11AM. Luego de esto; habrá un funeral privado para la familia en St. Michael Cemetery, 500 Canterbury St, Boston, MA 02131.
