Obituary


Charles T. Powell, of Woburn passed away peacefully Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston following a lengthy illness. He was 62. "Charlie", as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was the beloved husband of Carole E. (Dolham) Miller-Powell. Born in Medford he was the son of the late Ambrose J. and Verna L. (Davis) Powell.

Charlie was raised and educated in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. Charlie was a longtime employee at Jim's Tattoo Studio in Seabrook, New Hampshire and was also a longtime Personal Care Assistant. For many years he also worked as a bartender at the St. Anthony Club in Woburn. In his leisure time he was passionate about deep sea fishing and loved playing pinball machines. He enjoyed listening to music, spending time at the beach or sitting around a fire with family and friends. Charlie loved to entertain and hosting family and friends for any occasion. Charlie was a true people person and was happiest when he was surrounded by those he loved.

In addition to his beloved wife Carole, he is survived by his son, Jesse J. Aste-Powell of Watertown, stepchildren, Lisa Miller, Linda Miller, William Miller and his wife Nicole, and Nicole Miller, all of Woburn, the late Krystle Wampler, and recently united with his biological child Michael Edmunds. He was the Loving "Pop Pop" of Cameron and Aundraya Miller-Pimental, Ryan Curtis, Mackenzie Cassidy and Jana Jolly. Cherished brother of Linda Jacobs and her husband Peter of Medford, Ambrose Powell Jr. and his wife Nancy of Venezuela, Michael Powell of VA, Brian Powell of ME, Stephen Powell of Arlington, Mark Powell of Medford, Edward Powell of ME, the late Robert Powell and Patrick Powell. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN Friday, October 8th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday morning, October 9th, at 10 a.m. followed by a service conducted in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions in Charlie's memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
