Obituary

Gerald Lee Monkman (Gerry) 72 of Bellingham MA, passed away peacefully on Friday October 1st 2021 at 1:11 AM. Gerry fought a long hard 6 year battle with Cancer. He left this earth in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family watching his favorite westerns and listening to his favorite classic rock music.

Gerry was an amazing husband, dad, Papa and friend. He told it like it was regardless of hurting anyones feelings. He was blunt and upfront about his opinions, but that’s what made him great. He stood up for what he thought was right in life and was honestly the toughest, bravest, strongest man we knew. He was a family man who worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He always made sure to raise his kids to be strong, respectful, independent individuals. He worked as a banquet chef and truly had a passion for cooking. His expertise in the craft made every meal he cooked seem gourmet even if it was as simple as Biscuits and gravy, which was his specialty. His food brought a warm and homey feeling with every bite you took. In his spare time he loved to be with his family and friends. His hobbies included hiking, camping, hunting and fishing. Gerry loved being outdoors with nature, that’s where he felt most at peace.
Aside from being survived by his loving wife of 35 years Darlene (Terrazzino) Monkman Gerry also leaves behind his 5 children Kelly, Sara, Nicole, Cody, and Justin as well as many grandchildren.

Gerrys
wishes were to not have any services because he doesn’t want us to mourn his death, but celebrate his life. So with that being said in lieu of donations please take a shot of Gerry's favorite (tequila) or your preferred beverage in Gerrys honor.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
