Obituary

Patricia Anne (Green) Aulenbach, 73, of Medway died October 3 at her home surrounded by family following a courageous battle with cancer. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She died as gracefully as she lived.

Born in Cambridge, she was the devoted daughter of the late John F. and Lucille (Breton) Green. Patricia was raised in Watertown and had lived in Medway for the past 46 years. She was married to her loving husband, Brian Aulenbach, for the past 49 years.

In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her children, Caryn Aulenbach of Costa Rica and Kevin Aulenbach and his wife Tami of Franklin; her grandchildren, Cowen and Genevieve Aulenbach of Franklin; and her siblings, Roberta Green of Waltham, Janet and Donald Mayer of Mattapoisett, Alan and Paula Green of Amesbury, Kenneth and Traci Green of Billerica, and the late Judith Melanson and her husband Richard of Belmont.

Patricia was a graduate of Framingham State College earning a B. S. in Biology. Following graduation, she taught at St. Patrick’s School in Watertown until starting a family, she then worked as a substitute teacher in Medway until her children were grown. During the summers, she was the business manager at Camp Winnetaska (Girl Scout camp) in Ashland until she obtained a permanent position working at the Girl Scout retail store at Cedar Hill in Waltham. In addition, Patricia had been a sales representative for Avon products from the time she was in college until very recently.

Patricia had a passion for the outdoors. She enjoyed camping, gardening, nature walks, canoeing, and kayaking. She was dedicated to the Girl Scouts and was devoted to mentoring young women. Patricia was known for her positive attitude, gentle demeanor, stolid determination, and warm smile. She inspired all those she encountered and touched countless hearts. Above all, family was the most important to her. Her presence was not only a comforting rock for her immediate family, but for her extended family and friends as well.

Patricia’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 8 in St. Joseph Church on Village St. in Medway at 11:00am.

A private burial will be at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge at a later date.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
