WAYLAND: Magdolna M. (Moritz) Pongratz, 88, died peacefully after a full and rewarding life on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Newton Wellesley Hospital.
She was born in Szamosujvar, Romania on December 18, 1932 the daughter of the late Domokos Moritz and Berta (Kalos) Moritz.
She was the wife of the late Erno J. Pongratz who died in 1978.
Magdolna was the beloved mother of Erno M. Pongratz and his wife Katherine (Biron) of Elkins, NH; Simon G. Pongratz and his wife Nancy (Anderer) of Boston; Peter D. Pongratz and his wife Cheryl (McMahan) of Winchester and Ara I Pongratz and his wife Jody Ann (Sabia) of Wayland. She was the devoted grandmother to ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Magdolna has been a resident of Wayland at the Bent Park Community for 21 years where she had many close friends and neighbors.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 10:30 am at Saint John the Evangelist Church, 9 Glen Road, Wellesley.
At the request of her family there will be no funeral home visitations and interment will be private at a later date.
