Michael Riddle
Longtime Plastering Contractor


WILMINGTON: Michael Riddle, age 72, a lifelong resident of the Wilmington and Tewksbury area, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center from complications of Covid-19.

He was the beloved husband for 29 years to Dorothy L. (Nolan) Riddle who passed away July 25, 1998.

Born in Lowell on September 14, 1949, he was the son of the late Albert L. Riddle, Jr. and the late Jessie (Allen) Riddle.

Mike was raised in Tewksbury and attended Tewksbury Public Schools.

In 1969, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War era.

Michael worked in the commercial and residential plastering industry from the time he was 16 years old and founded and operated the Mike Riddle Plastering Company based in Wilmington.

Mike was a longtime member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Post # 2070.

He enjoyed reading, science fiction, traveling to the beach and the White Mountains, and was an avid fan of former New England Patriots and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, Tom Brady.

Mike is survived by two children, Michael R. Riddle and his girlfriend Mary of Lowell, and Gretchen M. Fielding and her husband Peter of Wilmington: five grandchildren, Alexis, Maxwell, Taylor, Mason and Sophia Mae: his siblings, Albert L. Riddle, III and his wife Kate of Merrimack, NH, Brian T. Riddle and his wife Joan of Grimes, IA, Arlene Pappalardo of FL and CT. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Mike was the brother of the late Cynthia Lefebvre, Carol Kenyon, Joan Pollard, Dorothy Pace, Arthur, Charles, and William Riddle.

Family and friends are invited to attend the burial service for Mike’s ashes to be held on Wednesday, October 6th, at 1 p.m. at the Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury. Those attending are encouraged to meet at the cemetery at 12: 45 p.m.. Fisher House provides no cost housing for families of hospitalized veterans and military members
