Obituary

Mr. Gilbert J. Bourbeau, a resident of Lawrence, passed away at his home on Monday evening, September 27, 2021. He was 73 years old.

Born in Methuen, Massachusetts, on August 14, 1948, he was the beloved son of the late Norman E. and Rita B. (Legendre) Bourbeau. He was a proud Central Catholic Graduate and a National Guardsman.

Gil worked as a Payroll Technician for many years and was a dedicated employee.
Gil had a deep love of music. His vast collection and knowledge of music was simply amazing. He often made CDs for his family so that they could share in the joy music brings. Gil also had a strong love for Boston Sports Teams, especially the Bruins. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed movies. He took daily walks, was an excellent 45s player and had a mind for Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit. Uncle Gilly, as he was affectionately known, was witty, generous and kind. He will be dearly missed.

Gilbert is survived by his loving sisters; Norma R. and her husband, Gary B. Morse of North Andover and Paula T. Melnick of Lawrence, son; Matthew Bourbeau of Bronx, New York, daughter; Melissa Van Horn of Lowell, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and several lifelong friends. He was also the brother of the late Reina Antwine.
