Obituary

Anne Marie devoted her life to loving, healing and giving – for family, friends, or just someone in need. If anyone was the embodiment of kindness, it was she.

Always possessed of a deep and artistic soul, she also discovered somewhat late in life an innate talent for painting, and for photography as well. Indeed, the variety of Anne Marie’s many abilities never ceased to surprise and amaze everyone (including herself)…her deep well of gifts was seemingly bottomless. And, as was her nature, these discoveries led her to a never-ending search for ways to share them with others.

Her life, then, was a journey…as it should be. Wanderlust was surely a part of her soul as well. There was ever something in her that knew that there was music to be heard, art to be appreciated, pain to be healed, and friends to be made.

But she always returned home to her family – her siblings, nieces, nephews, and especially her mom, Dorothy. They shared a special and unbreakable bond, and Anne Marie drew her strength from that.

She now rests with us…in our hearts if not in person. And we know that she is with her dad, Jim, her nephew John and brother-in-law Matt. Her presence is palpable.

Anne Marie Dorothy Collins, a resident of Nantucket and formerly of South Boston and Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. She was 57 years of age.
