Obituary

Betty “Jane” Mankey Alisi, 80, of Tifton, formerly of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Scott Taylor officiating. Ms. Alisi will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 1, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Kennon Dunn, Curtis Dunn, Michael Mullaley, Jericho Staples, Russ Ogletree and Steven Mullaley will serve as pallbearers.

Born July 5, 1941, in Middletown, Ohio, Ms. Alisi was the daughter of the late Charles Ernest Mankey and Kathryn Shank Mankey. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Hilda Smith Mankey, who raised her; and one sister, JoAnn Ward. Before retiring, she was a customer service representative with Blue Cross/Blue Shield. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1961, where she was a member of the Southside Assembly of God. She was a strong woman of faith and currently attended Tift Avenue Church of God. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society and she enjoyed sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed building and decorating dollhouses.

Ms. Alisi is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Lucinda Cayton of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, DaLeeta and Steven Mullaley of Palm Coast, Florida; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Candace and Russ Ogletree, Kennon and Barbara Dunn, Curtis Dunn, Jamie Mullaley, Hanna Johns, Michael and Jennifer Mullaley and Jericho Staples; and ten great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
