William F. Woods, 64 of 24 Smithville Rd. died Saturday, April 8 at
Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla., after being stricken ill.
He leaves his wife of 37 years, Doris A. (Kresco) Woods, a daughter, Theresa
A. Klosek of Spencer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was
pre-deceased by a brother Joseph Woods of Auburn.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Joseph and Margaret (Martin) Woods. Mr.
Woods was a police officer and began his 32 year career working at the
Leicester Police Department then the Auburn Police Department and retiring
from the Spencer Police Department in 1995. He was a member of the
Massachusetts Police, South Massachusetts Police and Eastern Connecticut
Police Associations, and a former member of M.C.O.P. He was a member of Our
Lady of the Rosary Church, Spencer and enjoyed spending his winters in
Melbourne, Fla.
The funeral will be Friday, April 14 from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL
HOME , 23 Maple Terr., with a Liturgy of the Word at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of
the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will be in Worcester County
Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday, from 4-7 p.m. in the
Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Spencer
