Dr. Herbert H. Meyer, a longtime resident of North Andover and beloved husband of Maria T. (Korn) Meyer, passed away at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Saturday morning, September 25, 2021. He was 92 years old.
Born in Osnabruck, Germany, Dr. Meyer was the beloved son of the late Anton and Elizabeth (Diekmann) Meyer. Herbert earned his Doctorate from Boston University and had been a Professor at Merrimack College in North Andover for more than 48 years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and tennis. He also loved animals, being in nature, and at the beach. Above all, he was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. Herbert will be dearly missed.
Besides his beloved wife, Maria, Herbert is survived by his loving children; Markus F. and his wife Nancy Meyer of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Miriam I. Meyer of Bolton, and Isabella M. and her husband Sean P. Fennell of Boxford; grandchildren: Edward, Ericka, Stefan, Chloe, Claudia and Anna and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held at Merrimack College in the Chapel of Our Mother of Good Counsel on the second floor of Austin Hall on Friday morning, October 1st, at 11am. Parking for those attending will be available in Lot A which is just inside the main gate to the campus. Please note, all those entering the campus will need to show proof of vaccination and we may need to require masks indoors.
