Patricia L. Dalton, 91

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Patricia L. (Shea) Dalton, age 91, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Dalton, Jr., to whom she was wed for sixty-six years at the time of his death on November 23, 2020.

Born in Mansfield, MA on May 21, 1930, she was a loving daughter of the late James and Helen (Noonan) Shea and the late Prita (Palladino) Shea.

Pat grew up in town and was a 1948 graduate of Mansfield High School. Prior to retiring, she had worked for several years in the children’s department at the former Sannie’s Department Store in downtown Mansfield. She had previously been employed at the Foxboro Co. and when younger as a stewardess for American Airlines.

Patricia’s family was truly the essence of her life and she especially delighted in spending time with her grandchildren. She was a lifelong communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, enjoyed reading and many wonderful years of traveling with her late husband.

She is survived by her devoted children: Mark E. Dalton and his longtime companion Suzanne of Jacksonville, Florida, Nancy H. Cleary and her husband Jack of Mansfield, Susan J. Dalton of Mansfield and Ellen E. Whittington of Norton. She was the dear sister of Naureen Sanford of Virginia, Michael Shea of Needham, and the late Thomas Shea, James Shea, William Shea, John Shea, Sandra Michaud, Helen Handy and Mary Nunes. She is also survived by her cherished 6 grandchildren, as well as her loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, October 6th at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515.
