Charlotte A. Perry, 85

Dateline: Smithfield, Rhode Island

Charlotte A. (Simpson) Perry, age 85, of Smithfield, Rhode Island, formerly of Norton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 24, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Charles H. Perry, Sr., to whom she was wed for sixty-nine years.

Born in Boston, MA, on October 16, 1935, she was a loving daughter of the late George and Mary (Saulnier) Simpson.

Charlotte grew up in Maine and later her family moved to Boston. While raising her family, she lived most of her life in Norton and later lived on Indian Head Lake in Maine and in Smithfield, Rhode Island.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Perry worked as a cook at Wheaton College, the University of New Hampshire and at Attleboro High School. Upon retiring, she moved to Maine with her husband Charles to enjoy their home on the lake creating wonderful family memories, engaging in swimming, boating, water sports and parasailing.

In her late 50’s, Charlotte was ever so proud when she received her GED. While living in Norton, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Lieutenant Harold A. Healy American Legion Post 222. Her family always came first, and her hobbies included square dancing and ballroom dancing with her loving husband and best friend Charles.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted 5 children: Charles H. Perry, Jr. of Norton, George Perry and his wife Beth of Taunton, Richard Perry and his wife Kim of Attleboro, Cindy Poirier and her husband Jerry of Smithfield, Rhode Island and Charlene Teixeira and her husband Michael of Seekonk. She was the dear sister of Arlene Schumacher and her husband Norman of Oregon and the late James Simpson. She is also survived by her cherished 13 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren and one on the way.

Services and burial will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
