Lavon Hooks Dickens, 75, of Omega passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Dickens at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Rickey Wells will officiate.
The Tri-County Memorial Team will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 1, 1946, in Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Dickens was the son of the late James Thomas Dickens, Sr. and Flora Emma Hooks Dickens. He was also preceded in death by one brother, James Thomas Dickens, Jr. He was a retired, self-employed farmer and truck driver and he was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving and caring son and brother and he was also a good friend to many people. He loved to fish and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Dickens is survived by his special friends, Eddie and Debbie Greene of Tifton.
