Marie T. (Bentivegna) Dioguardi of Woburn, formerly of Medford and Boston’s North End passed away Thursday September 23rd surrounded by her loving family. She was 66 years young. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she was the daughter of the late Vincent "Jimmy" and Rose (Albanese) Bentivegna.
Marie loved to be surrounded by people and was known to most as a social butterfly. She loved to entertain, travel, bake, cook, feed others, drink tea, listen to music and go out to eat. Marie could always be found singing and dancing away like the disco queen she was while listening to her favorite artist of all time, Rod Stewart. One of Marie's favorite places was the beach where she could feel the sand in her toes and the sun on her face. One of her favorite past times was “scaloopin” around town with her family and girlfriends. She enjoyed spending time with all children, shopping for new shoes and being pampered by her husband, Al.
Marie was the beloved wife of Alfred “Al” Dioguardi (originally of Revere) for 42 years. She was the devoted and proud mother of Michael Dioguardi and Vanessa Dioguardi both of Medford. She was the dear sister of Jo Accarrino and her husband Paul of Tewksbury and RoseAnn Bentivegna of Medford and the sister-in-law Barbara Dioguardi-Hernandez. She will be dearly missed by her two special cousins who were like sisters, Julie Bentivegna and Lorraine Giardiello. Marie is also survived by nieces, many cousins and other extended family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Marie’s family on Tuesday September 28th at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford from 10 AM to 12 PM. At the family's request, please practice strict COVID protocol with masking and social distancing while attending services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marie’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to the Italian Home for Children, 1125 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
