Obituary

Earl Linwood Moorefield, 79 of Chase City, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. He was born on June 21, 1942. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Mullins Moorefield. In addition, he was predeceased by his parents Thomas Moorefield and Janie Moorefield Harper and step-father Johnny Harper, two brothers, William Moorefield and Thomas “Sonny” Moorefield, a sister, Ann Williamson, and his best friend Skinner Walker.

He was a United States Army Veteran and retired from Fort Pickett. Earl loved farming, tractors, and telling jokes to everyone he saw.

He is survived by one sister, Alice Rothell (Marlen) of Victoria and several nieces and nephews. Also, leaving to cherish his memory are two special nephews, Chris Williamson (Charlene) and their children Tristian, Tyler, and Ann Taylor and Kenneth Williamson (Jennifer) and their children Joanna and Leeann.

In addition, he is survived by a Goddaughter, Jill Walker Seamans (BJ) and their children, Jacob and Jett of Chase City. He had two special companions that he cared for daily, Buck and Jamie. Earl had many friends whom he dearly loved including Frances Walker and a special neighbor Pauline Lenhart, both of Chase City.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 24, 2021 at Bluestone Independent Baptist Church Cemetery, 6731 Highway 15, Clarksville, Virginia 23927.
