Obituary

Lucien A. Chevalier, 80, of Woonsocket died Friday September 17, 2021 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was the loving husband of Therese “Terry” (Goulet) Chevalier. They were married on June 2, 1962.
Born and raised in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Doris Chevalier He resided in Manville for many years before returning to Woonsocket.
Known to family and friends as Lou, he worked as a professional truck driver for Armor Meats for over 30 years. Many people in the area will also remember Lou as the weekend manager at the Walnut Hill Bowling Alley.
Lou was a longtime active member of the St. Joseph Veteran’s Association. He served as the financial secretary and volunteered countless hours for many functions and activities at the club post.
Lou was an avid bowler and played a mean game of cribbage.
Lou will be remembered as a friendly and outgoing gentleman. He treasured spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Terry, Lou is survived by his son Russell Chevalier and his wife Donna of Lincoln and a daughter Linda Chenot and her companion Eugene “Butch” LaCroix of Woonsocket. He was the father of the late Tina Marie Chevalier who passed away in 2015. Lou was the proud grandfather of Heather Chenot, Jasmine Chevalier, William Russas, Jonathan Russas, Nicholas Russas and Victoria Mercado, 4 great-grandchildren Rayden, Runa, Maya and Milana. He was the brother of the late Patricia Chevalier.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
