Obituary

Limerick - Robert S. Floyd, 71, of Limerick died unexpectedly at his home on September 17, 2021. Bob, the son of Robert C. and Jean D. (Large) Floyd, was was born in Sanford on February 23, 1950. He attended Limerick schools and graduated from Sanford High School in 1968. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Corporal in the Military Police. He married his beloved wife Delores Allaire on October 2, 1976.

Bob was in the trucking and excavation business all his working life. He worked for D.C. Foglio in Waterboro for several years before he owned and operated R.S. Floyd Excavating for over 40 years. During that time he also hauled hot top for Dayton Sand and Gravel for over 20 years.

A family man, Bob loved spending time with his children and adored his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bob also liked antique cars, playing cards and games, and going for rides.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Floyd of Limerick, son, Ryan Floyd of Limerick, daughter, Tracy Floyd and husband Genaro Sandoval of San Antonio, TX., two sisters, Janet Floyd and Barbara Callaway and husband Richard all of Greenville NC., two grandchildren, Greggory and Mariah Floyd of Limerick, as well as several nephews, a niece and many relatives in Southampton, England, New York, and New Jersey.
