Claire F. (O’Donnell) Crawford, 66, of Middleboro, MA, passed away suddenly on September 17, 2021. She was predeceased by her late husband, Gayle L. Crawford, Jr.
Claire was the daughter of the late Charles J. O’Donnell and Lillian E. (Bostrom) O’Donnell. She grew up in Dorchester, MA and later moved to Milton, MA. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Boston. She worked for several years in a Pediatric office in Boston with Dr. Frawley and shortly thereafter she settled down and started a family. She enjoyed spending time with her family most of all.
Claire is survived by her four children, Jessica C. Varney of Plymouth, MA and her husband Matthew, Brandon S. Crawford of Whitman, MA and his wife Taylor, Stephen J. Crawford of Whitman, MA and his wife Kayla, and Julie A. Mansfield of Jacksonville, NC and her husband Casey. She was the loving ‘Nan’ to Benjamin Varney and Natalie Crawford.
Claire was predeceased by her brother Paul O’Donnell, and is also survived by her siblings, Ellen Hogan of Dover, NH and her husband John, Charles O’Donnell III of Wareham, MA and his wife Carol; Richard O’Donnell of Hyde Park, MA and his wife Cheryl, John O’Donnell of Wareham, MA, Robert O’Donnell of Whitman, MA and his wife Nancy, James O’Donnell of Middleboro, MA, and Ellen O’Donnell, of Milton, MA wife of the late Paul O’Donnell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Claire will always be remembered for her kind, nurturing spirit and the genuine love she had for everyone she met. She welcomed all into her home as one of her own, and truly was a “second mother” to many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours on Thursday, September 23rd from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, MA 02382. Burial and graveside service will follow on Friday, September 24th at the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree at 10:00a.m. with a procession leaving from the Chapel at 9:30a.m.
